Learn to make your own mead and start your first batch while in class! All materials included in the price of tuition. Taught by expert wine and mead makers, Phil and Nick Lorenz of Nectar Creek Honeywine. You will learn about the history and lore of mead, the basics of fermentation, storing and bottling, the different varieties of mead, and get an easy recipe for a one gallon batch of mead. You'll spend half the class making your own batch of mead! This class is intended for the beginning mead maker, however, all skill levels are invited.
Each participant will receive a fermentation starter kit, complete with: honey, yeast, a 1 gallon carboy, cap, bung, and airlock as well as various other ingredients. Each student will start a batch of mead in class under the guidance of the instructor. Participants must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of age.
