Bee Thinking is currently looking for an Office Manager to join our growing colony!

We are seeking an Executive Assistant/Office Manager to support the Bee Thinking Leadership Team and manage a variety of complex and confidential tasks within the business team. This role has a diverse set of responsibilities that are integral to the smooth functioning and growth of the company and is expected to represent Bee Thinking in a professional, responsive manner. A passion for saving the bees and bee culture is a plus!   • Performs administrative duties for executive management, which may include screening calls; managing calendars; making travel, meeting and event arrangements; preparing expense reports; payroll management
  • Serve as the point person for maintenance, mailing, shopping, supplies, equipment, bills, and errands
  • Partner with HR to recruit and onboard new employees, assist with employee development, and establish company policies as necessary
  • Organize office operations and procedures
  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and landlord
  • Manage office budget, ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Provide general support to customers and business partners as needed 
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent education/experience
  • 2+ years' Proven Office Management or Executive Assistant experience
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Docs.
  • Experience with E-Commerce is a plus.


Sales Manager

Bee Thinking is currently looking for a sales manager to join our team and help raise our organization to the next level! A little about Bee Thinking: we are Portland's only family-owned beekeeping supply company, supporting backyard and commercial beekeepers locally and internationally.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Establishing new customers for online, brick and mortar, and wholesale

Production Supervisor

Bee Thinking is currently looking for highly motivated production supervisor to join our warehouse team! Experience with leading, coaching and developing teams is essential. A passion for saving the bees and bee culture is a plus! A little about Bee Thinking: we are Portland's only family-owned beekeeping supply company, supporting backyard and commercial beekeepers locally and internationally.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising employees in production, along with monitoring and recording the operation of the machinery/equipment and production process to attain daily production goals. The production supervisor will effectively train and/or assist in training warehouse associates to operate machinery/equipment and understand production and packing methods. Assist in maintaining accurate documentation related to employee performance, machinery/equipment operation, and production of finished products. Ensure quality standards are met and daily audits are completed. Provide the Warehouse Manager with objective feedback to affect objective evaluations. Meet or exceed daily production requirements per product specifications as set by management. Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities in a timely fashion as requested. Reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Train and monitor warehouse staff by giving direction on daily tasks to meet production deadlines. Report all safety and quality issues immediately to management. Requires hands-on capability to operate all machinery and equipment within the boundaries of available manuals, instruction, and personal expertise. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Pack and ship items per customer order. Order and plan for daily/weekly/monthly deliveries of products and materials. Oversee that crew is safely using equipment as necessary by providing training and appropriate PPE. Operate all functions of position alone and without assistance if necessary. Fill in for the Warehouse Manager when absent. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school education or up to 6 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read/write/record data and perform mathematical calculations. Ability to direct a diverse group of people with excellent written or oral communication. Attendance is critical; employee must be dependable to report to work on time and work a flexible schedule. Required to report employee accidents or unsafe work conditions to Warehouse Manager. At least 2 years of leadership experience. Intermediate word and excel skills for correspondence and reporting duties along with excellent organizational skills.

Full time employees are eligible for benefits after 45-days, which includes medical, dental, Simple IRA, PTO and paid sick leave

Customer Service Associate

Bee Thinking is currently looking for highly motivated individuals to join our customer service and retail team! Team members will be expected to be flexible in scheduling, including having evening and weekend availability.

Bee Thinking/Mead Market Retail Responsibilities:
Deliver top-notch customer service to our retail customers

Maintain high standards of retail space throughout the day
Clean, restock, and organize boutique retail space
Host mead tastings, educate customers about mead
Educate customers about hives and beekeeping
Balance customer interaction with additional tasks
Actively gain knowledge of beekeeping and mead industries
Assist in larger projects of a growing company, as assigned by managers

Ability to communicate clearly with customers and co-workers

Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
Positively participate in team environment
Ability to obtain OLCC card within 2 weeks of hire
Extreme attention to detail, especially in maintaining clean retail space
Be proactive in problem-solving to follow-through on completion of every task
Ability to stand for extended periods

Interest in mead-making, the mead industry and/or experience in other sectors of the beverage industry
