My bee keeper / pastor friend down the road will stock it for me when the time is right.

I may drill a hole in one of the dividers and place a simple syrup feeder in the space beyond to get them started. I plan to move the separaters further and further toward the ends as the bees do their thing. I don't plan to harvest any of their honey. I just enjoy watching them.

GREAT Top Bar Hive! Review by West Coast Backyard Beekeepers

After a lot of research, we decided on Matt's design. And we are very happy with our BeeThinking TBH. The thick cedar stands up to the weather, and insulates well in both hot and cold weather. The cross-legs not only look nice, they also take up less space than the straight leg styles. The length of 42" is perfect... not too small and not too long. The window is fun and functional, allowing us to view the bees without disturbing them. And best of all, the roof is attached... that alone sold us. We think it's the best retail TBH on the market, and the price makes it a very good value too. (Posted on 11/28/11)
