Our ultimate top bar hive tool is hand made in Portland, Oregon from 1/4" steel for added strength. The tool is based on the "Bill Wood Comb Knife", but has the added benefit of incorporating a traditional hive tool on one end. Having fallen in love with the original comb knife, but tired of carrying around a traditional hive tool for situations where prying is needed, we decided to combine the two! While the original comb knife was made with Warre hives in mind, it works equally well in a horizontal top bar hive for prying bars apart and then detaching the comb from the sides. Whether you're using a horizontal top bar hive or a Warre hive, this is the only hive tool you'll need to carry!
