Mead Making Class

Learn to make your own mead and start your first batch while in class! Mead, also known as honey wine, is the oldest alcoholic beverage and begins with just honey, water, and yeast.

Taught by local star meadmaker, Brooks Cooper of STUNG Fermented, the class will begin with the history of mead; the basics of fermentation, storing, and bottling; a guided mead tasting; and learning an easy recipe for classic mead. You’ll spend the rest of the evening making your own batch of mead! This class is intended for the beginning mead maker, however, all skill levels are welcome. Class tuition includes the cost of all materials.

Each participant will receive a fermentation starter kit, complete with: honey, yeast, 1 gallon carboy, cap, bung, and airlock as well as various other ingredients. Each student will start a batch of mead in class under the guidance of the instructor. Participants must be 21 years of age or older and have proof of age.
