Bucket Strainer System

19   |

This is our handy bucket strainer system for use extracting honey, via the crush-and-strain method.

To use: simply place honeycombs into the top bucket (which is lined with a screened bag), smash up the combs, place the the lid on top and wait for your honey to drain into the bucket below. Place the buckets in the sun (making sure the lid is on tight so no insects get in) or in a heated room and let gravity do the work.

Used for harvesting from horizontal top bar hives, Warre hives and foundationless Langstroth hives!

Includes:

  • 1 3.5 gallon bucket with honey gate
  • 1 3.5 gallon bucket with bottom drain holes
  • 2 lids (1 with a hole cut out for the honey to drain through)
  • 1 strainer bag

        I love this bucket strainer

I love this bucket strainer system. I have 2 Warre Hives, and before I saw and purchased the bucket system, I was straining by hand through cheese cloth into mason jars. Sticky business. This is so much more effiecient, if you have the time. I don’t sell my honey, so there was no urgency to the harvest. The design is simple, old-school, and does not take up a lot of space. Easy to clean, too. Thanks for a great product.
