Hi The frames were easy to put together. Very nice. Well constructed. The bees have not read the manual and built cross comb. Any suggestions for stopping that?

We're glad that you are enjoying the frames! Here is a link explaining good ways to minimize crosscombing in the future. http://www.overallgardener.com/how-to-avoid-cross-comb-in-top-bars-and-langstroth-hives/ Some of the cross combing can be adjusted manually, but once the bees have been going at it for a while, it can be difficult to straighten them out. You will want to "Crush and strain" the comb from that super this year. We hope that helps!

Sugar Pine is our value wood option. Beautiful, strong, takes paint or sealant well, and is more stable and lighter than more common ponderosa pine.

Western Red Cedar is our premium wood option. It is rot resistant, dimensionally stable, insulates well, and doesn't require painting or sealing.

All of our wood is sustainably harvested and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.
