Natural Deodorant From the Hive

Tuition $20 + Materials $5

Beekeepers and Bee Lovers alike can greatly appreciate the sweet smell of cracking the hive. Not only does beeswax smell amazing, but it’s antiseptic and binding capabilities make it a perfect substrate for crafting natural deodorants. Join Bee Thinking and Portland Urban Beekeeper’s President, and deodorant making aficionado, Bill Catherall, for this hands-on natural deodorant making workshop.

Each student will make and leave with their own stick of natural deodorant, and the tools needed to make their own for years to come.

When: Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 4-6pm

Where: Bee Thinking, 1744 SE Hawthorne Blvd.

About the instructor:

While helping to plant a family vegetable garden in the spring of 2011, Bill Catherall was thinking about pollination and the plight of honey bees. Having grown up with other family members who kept bees, he knew a backyard hive could be done, but knew nothing about it. So began the study, research, and ultimate obsession. He got his first hive in 2012 and began documenting his growth and beekeeping practice on his YouTube channel, TheBeeVlog. Over 190 videos later, TheBeeVlog now has 12,000+ subscribers and over 1,000,000 views. You can follow Bill and his beekeeping adventures at: , , or .
