Warre Hive Box

62   |

Bee Thinking Warre boxes are milled in Portland, Oregon using kiln dried, clear, vertical grain Western Red Cedar (the highest grade of cedar available) or sugar pine. Our Warre boxes use 7/8" thick Western Red Cedar or sugar pine, 16 screws and rabbet joints for superior strength and longevity. The precision milled, one piece top bars are unattached for compliance with most state and local beekeeping laws. Optional window makes it easy to see in without disturbing your colony—a great option for new beekeepers!

Warre boxes measure 13 3/4" wide by 13 3/4" long by 8 1/4" deep. Boxes are made from 7/8-inch thick Western Red Cedar or sugar pine.

Good item as usual

I am and will contiue to be a Bee Thinking customer. I have purchased a Top Bar Hive in the past and most recently a Warre hive. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that the plexiglass viewing windows have a gap as much as 1/4 to 1/8 inch on the ends of each box. I made sure that the side ends were tight and flush in the rebates. I suppose I could have done some planing or sanding but did not think that was the customers job. I did purchase as an unassembled hive but thought that that on intailed ******** and finishing. With that being said I will remain a customer and come up with a fix.

Well made

Well made

Sugar Pine is our value wood option. Beautiful, strong, takes paint or sealant well, and is more stable and lighter than more common ponderosa pine.

Western Red Cedar is our premium wood option. It is rot resistant, dimensionally stable, insulates well, and doesn't require painting or sealing.

All of our wood is sustainably harvested and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified.
